Who we are

The medal workshop and mint of Petr Sousek and Pavel Neumann of Brno, Czech Republic. We specialize in striking highly artistic coins and medallions, mainly in a historic or pseudo-historic style. We are one of the few  workshops in the world which adhere, as a standard, to the original = historical minting procedures.

What we produce

Replicas of ancient and other historic coins, tokens, medals and coins to our own or the customer's design as well as pseudo-historic and coin-derived jewellery.

How we work

From manually engraved steel, iron or bronze dies we strike, manually or by means of a screw-operated minting press, from gold, silver and common metals. Jewellery is cast using the lost-wax method and individually hand-worked and aged.

Where we sell

We sell on-line mostly to Northern America and European Union. A selection of our artefacts can also be found in the gift shops of the National Museums in Prague, Moravian Museum in Brno, Jewish Museum Prague, castles of Lednice, Buchlov, Pernstein, Kromeriz, Valtice, Prague etc., Museum of Ancient Culture in Litomysl, archaeological exhibition "Romans in Musov" in Pasohlavky, in the Museum and Gallery of Breclav, the mansion in Pohansko, in the archaeological park in Mikulcice etc.

About us

Welcome to the world of silver and gold replicas of coins of outstanding beauty and artistic execution. The talent and wealth of experience as a graphic artist of their creator - the medallist Petr Sousek - allow him to work sensitively, yet with unmatched lightness, fantasy and confidence. The result is unique, creating, what are in today‘s world, rather exceptional tiny pieces of sculpted artefacts.

The rendering and appearance of the coins, medals, and jewellery, as close as possible to the most beautiful historic originals, is typical for its high relief, irregular shape of the blank, image engraved directly into the die, hand striking followed by applying patina. The motifs draw on historical events, mythology and often touch on timeless themes.

The second area in which we work is producing made-to-order modern and pseudo-historical medals, tokens and coins doing everything from the design to striking the item using manually operated coin presses. Our offer includes special purpose and marketing coinages, personalized New Year coins, local “currencies”, Napoleonics, municipal coinages, auction tokens, jubilee coinages, commemorative medals, honorary plaques, private portrait coinages, etc.

When viewing the Petr's older works you will discover what a talented engraver is capable of producing in this century. The uninitiated will be briefly introduced to the history of forgeries, replicas, and copies of coins. In an interview Petr will reveal some secrets of his work. If you like any of the replicas we will be pleased if you buy them. You can also have a replica made according to your wishes, including one carrying your own portrait.

Petr's previous works, until recently not very well known even in his home country, have been highly valued by his admirers in Europe and overseas. We sincerely hope that you too will join their ranks.
