Moravia, "Gross" of IODOCVS of
Luxembourg (silver coin replica)
The margrave Jošt (IODOCVS) of Luxembourg (1354–
1411) hails from the ancient Luxembourg dynasty which reigned in Bohemia
and Moravia at the end of the 14th and the beginning of the
15th century. Jošt of Luxembourg was a great-grandson of the
Czech king John of Luxembourg (+1346 Crecy) and
a nephew of the Czech king and Roman emperor Charles IV. In
addition to the Margrave of Moravia (1375 – 1411) and Margrave of
Brandenburg (1388 and 1400), he was elected Roman king in 1410. |
