Phallic pendant, 1st - 3rd cent. AD.

Pendants of this type, in various sizes, were often sold by traders in front of ancient temples. They served as an offering or a good-luck charm. It was believed that the bearer or donator of the pendant would be endowed with greater masculinity or fertility.
